Weekly news v.43

What was decided at last week's Faculty Board? What about the cuts off? Here comes a late weekly letter about your education!

Meeting with the faculty board

This week it was time for meeting with the faculty board. It was a massive meeting where we had do take a decisions about the faculty's budget and business plan for next year. This involved decisions about how the reduced number of student places would be distributed. To summarize it briefly: the preparatory distance math course at math.se disappears and also 30 seats in the pre-year (basår). The number of students will also decrease at some varid courses, mainly at the institutions of biology, IT and CEMUS. The reason to this decision is that the number of students on these courses has increased greatly in recent years because of temporary extra money and that the number of students are now returning to previous levels. Perhaps you have seen CEMUS student campaigns for their education? There was no change due to the proposal but the staff at the faculty were very impressed of the students!

The meeting also decided how much money UTN get from the faculty next year. They authorized the organization plan for student service and it was decided that the investigation of the Ångström phase 4 will continue.

Next week:
