Here's a review of my work as head of academic affairs and student liaison officer at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Read through and take the weekend of =)

TUFF-capital
The faculty of Science and Technology distributes 2,1 million swedish crowns each year to pedagogical projects and initiatives at the Faculty. Me and Marie, head of student welfare affairs, have been reading through project descriptions in order to distribute the money in a proper way. I've had a lot of nice reading, but now a suggestion is finished.


TUN och NUN
Both TUN and NUN, the boards of engineering and science educations have decided on new studyplans for all the educationprogrammes at the Faculty. I hope you have been involved in the process of working with the changes in the studyplan of your education, because you can =)

The pedagogical price of Uppsala university
The startmeating for the pedagogical award for a teacher at Uppsala university was held this week. The possibility to nominate teachers opens in the middle of January next year. Take the chance to encourage your best teacher.

Speaking of pedagogical awards, Uppsala union of engineering and science students opens the possibility to nominate teachers for the pedagogical award next month. Keep your eyes open!

Studentservice
The studentservice organization at the Faculty are reorganizing and we as students are an important part of the work. The idea is to have everything from student counciling to examhandling more available and structured. If you have any ideas what you need in a student service office, send me an email!


This weeks paragraph of Higher Education Ordinance

The vice-chancellor shall be appointed by a Government decision for a period of no more than six years on the basis of a proposal from the board of governors of the higher education institution. The appointment may be extended but no more than twice and for no more than three years at a time.

Before the board of governors submits its proposal, consultation shall take place with the teachers, other employees and students in the manner determined by the board of governors.

In the process of proposing a vice-chancellor, the board of governors shall as far as possible consider both female and male candidates. The board of governors shall account to the Government for the way in which the gender equality aspect has been taken into account. Ordinance (2002:558).

Currently within this area the proposal for new vice-chancellor at Uppsala University is Eva Åkesson.
