Weekly letter v.41

Strangly enough it's always great weather when I write about the student influence for the week. I hope your week was as good as mine. Here is review of the work this week at the faculty of science and technology.

Faculty board
The faculty board with Ulf Danielsson as chair had a meeting thuesday and wedensday. We decided what the faculty should do with around 1 thousand million swedish crona during 2012. UTN will get some money from the faculty for their work=)

Apply for courses
It's time to apply for the courses given in the spring semester. Last date is the 17th of october, contact your programme co-ordinator (contact for your master programme can be found at: http://www.uu.se/en/education/courses_and_programmes/master/master/) or contact the student service office (http://www.uu.se/en/education/contact/) for more information.

Space for eating and heating lunch
Discussions with the head of campus facilities at Ångström has been kept. Today there are hardly any place at all for microwaveovens. If you have any ideas where to put them you're very welcome to conatct me.

Supplemental Instructions
KrUUt - Kreativt Utvecklingsarbete vid Uppsala Universitet has a seminar next thuesday about How can active student participation be implemented? Hopefully the Supplemental Instruction activities can continue expanding in the faculty.  SI aims to that a older student leads younger students in discussion groups to get to a result. This method has been a very helpful element of the education for many students.

The paragraph of the week from the Higher Education Ordinance
chap. 6 section 24 If an examiner finds that a decision on a grade is obviously incorrect owing to new circumstances or for some other reason, he or she shall change the decision if this can be done quickly and easily and if it does not mean lowering the grade. Ordinance (2006:1053).
