On Wednesday the 11th of december 2013 came the announcement that many had been waiting for. Uppsala student union gave up the formal right of representation for the students of the SciTech-faculty, and from 2014 and on UTN would be the formal representative of students at the faculty. Along with the possibilities this entailed, there also came responsibilities. For a long time, UTN had been the local representative for the SciTech-students, but with the formal right of representation the union had to take responsibility on a university central level and for collaborations between the student unions. It also demanded a change of attitude in the organisation, an acceptment of the responsibility of a formal student union.

During this turbulent time, Emma was president of the union. During her two years as head of the organisation she worked tirelessly put the union's central work on the map for the average student, and raised awareness throughout the organisation of the responsibilities for a formal student union. By explaining that this meant everyone involved in the union must do what they can to take this responsibility, she has made an indelible mark on the union and performed extraordinary contribution to the organisation.

For her commitment throughout the years and for her huge heart for the union, and especially the core work, Emma Lindbjer is award the union's Medal of Merit.
