Abstract from FUM 2016:6

The 6th and the 7th of december the last meeting of the year was held at blåsenhus.

The focus of the general messages in the beginning was to encourage people to apply for the last full-time vacancy: Student Liaison Officer, Head of Academic Affairs - Science and International Affairs.

After that the annual report and the financial year of 2015-2016 was presented and was together with the economic report accepted by the union council. However, the decision about giving the board of 2015-2016 discharge of responsibility could not be decided since a report from the external auditor was missing so the question was postponed to next meeting.

After some coffee it was time to elect Kenny Andersson, Jonas Euler and Josefine Grundström Lindqvist as the new guardians of the pillar. Guardians of the pillar is nominated of the board and the persons who are nominated have done a lot of work for the union during several years.

Furthermore, the allocation of seats for the union council for the year of 2017 was determined but then the highlight of the meeting had arrived. The nomination of the medal of merit in gold was announced and confirmed by the union council. The medal went to previous chairman of the union Emma Lindbjer, Congratulations!

The election of the head of the Election Committee had to be postponed due to no applicants but Gabriel Tidestav was elected as secretary of the union council and this ended the first day of the meeting.

The second started with the strategic operational plan which describes what long term goals the union should work towards. Next, the Per Wahlund foundation was discussed together with the byelaws of the foundation. The major part of the discussions concerned how long before events the deadline of applications should be. The next step is to get the foundation up and running which should somewhere around summer.

At the end of the meeting a new regulation of handling personal information was accepted by the union council as well as an updated version of the delegation of authority that was accepted previous spring.
