Summary 2016:2

We have now got another election-FUM to thank for a lot of UTN positions being filled for next year. The meeting took place during two days in April and was manned with 30 people eligible to vote both days. During the first day we first got messages from the Board and then the Management team which first off wanted to promote the open positions in the Management team, but they also announced the exiting news that Uthgård is not longer damaged from the water leakage. The heads of student-educational interests also had some interesting information, e.g. about the rebuilding of BMC, about a suggestion that has been sent out to the sections about a tech-profile, and that the education department has sent out a request to the University about receiving and taking care of people coming to Sweden that has got an foreigner education. Further on we received some short messages from the election committee, Auditors and the editorial staff of Techna. After those messages we quickly determined the members fee for the next year and also the proposition about protocols which made us follow the law.

Next up the amazing preciding committee of the council sang us a song, which was extremely uplifting. As expected it was time for election and first out was the post as President of UTN. We had three candidates, and answering questions about e.g. the relationship between the union and the sections, conflict management, the relationship between the different unions in Uppsala, and improved involvement of science students FUM choose Rozbe Bozorgi, W, to be the new President for 2016/2017. For those of you reading this summary and want to know more about our new chairman he described himself as a modest person who likes to think before he acts, with a wide knowledge of the union but has also been involved in other organisations outside of UTN. He spoke of a climate with decreasing gaps between the board, the engaged students and the sections in a way of improving the student-educational interests. As vice president of UTN FUM choose Daniel Ahlsén, NVM. Daniel presented himself as a doer and that he really looked forward to working with the committees and the economy. One of his visions was to look into the unions overbalance and the possibility of a new union house. After those two elections it was time for the election of the board, and there FUM voted for Malin Eriksen, Karin Ljungberg and Amanda Karlsson, and to postpone the other two positions for the meeting on Tuesday. With that done the Monday meeting was done. The meeting on Tuesday was considerably shorter and started of with choosing Jakob Ekengard to be a member of the University board and after that Caroline Lundström and Louise Hagström as auditors. For the newspaper Techna Jonas Euler and Marika Ljungberg was chosen as editorial staff. We also got to keep Kell for three more years as a accountant. After that all the elections was made for this time and the only thing left was to do was to say yes to the delegation of authority. After that the two empty positions on the board was adjourned to next meeting in May, and with that the meeting was over for this time.
