Pressrelease: Status as a Student Union

At the Board of the University meeting this morning, 22 February, a decision has been
made about which associations will be able to represent the students as Student Unions
at Uppsala University during the next three-year period from 1 July 2016-31 June 2019.
During the meeting it was decided that Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science
Students, UTN, continues to have the status as a Student Union for the faculty of
Science and Technology, with the exception of Campus Gotland.

- We are very excited to continue the work of representing the students of the
SciTech- faculty! Both the work of representing the students of the faculty and, in
cooperation with the other unions, advancing students' opinions at a higher level
is important and we are happy that we get to be work with this for three more
years, says Malin Eriksen, President of UTN.

Uppsala Student Union, Pharmaceutical Student Association, Gotlands' Student
Association, Uppsala Business & Economics Students Association and Law students’
Association in Uppsala are the other associations that also have received the status as
Student unions at Uppsala university for the upcoming period.

- I both hope and believe that we will be able to continue to have a good relation to
the other unions at the university. It is important for the student representation
that the cooperation works in a good way, says Malin Eriksen.
