Every year the Council for Educational Developement at the Faculty of Science and Technology holds its annual conference TUK. At the conference teachers and students whom has done a pedagogical project will hold presentations. Students that are curious about the pedagogical developement at the faculty are encouraged to participate. If you are interested to take part on the conference, send an e-mail to delt-tuk [at] uadm.uu.se no later than 11 mars, mark the subject heading ”STUDENT”. More information are avalible here.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Cynthia Finelli from Center for Research on Learning and Teaching in Engineering at the University of Michigan. Her presentation is summarised below

“Promoting institutional change and improving teaching practices”

There have been repeated calls to improve science and engineering education, but are we doing everything we can to promote student success and improve student learning? Are we translating the ample research about effective teaching into actual classroom practice? What can we do to bridge the research-to-practice gap and accelerate the adoption of evidence-based teaching practices?
