Summary of board meeting 140917

The meeting started with a visit from the Speaker of the Union Council, Nicklas Mattson, whose work it is to lead the council throughout the year. Together, we discussed the motions and bills which will be put forward to the council meeting on the 29th September. A motion is a written proposal to the Council Meeting which any union member can put forward, a bill is a proposal put forward by the board. A lot of exciting motions and bills are coming up, so be sure to turn up to the meeting and put forward your view!

After this, the board discussed to appointment of the presiding committes of the Reception and Lan Committes. The presiding committes lead their respective committes, as well as appointing them. At the time of writing, it is still possible to apply for these positions. The board also decided to hand out medals to some of our fantastic volonteers.

Medals in silver were given to the presiding committes of the reception committes for Engineering and Computer Science students, and students of the Preparatory Year respectively. Medals in bronze were given to the two Reception Committes for Science Students (MFK and GB), the Head of the Prep Teacher, the Head of the Computer Prepp and to the departing Event Coordinators of the unions eventgroup. Thank you!

In addition to this, the board discussed member registry and Student Cards, two issues coming up on the next council meeting. We also began working with the appointment of the Head of the Prep Teachers, two Student Liason Officers (of International Affairs and Labour Market Affairs), The Crew Master of the Pub Crew, The Head of Public Relations, Vice Project Manager of the Utnarm Employment Fair and a place on the board of Entrepeneurs Academy.
