Today Uppsala University and our faculty is responsible to determine which education programs that will be offered at our university. The same applies to all universities in Sweden. With this a great responsibility lies on the universities to design programs that together provide a wide range of programs with high quality. To investigate this work the government today appointed an investigator to describe the composition and development of educational programmes and see how well they are adapted to the quality requirements, student requests and labor market needs. The investigation will be done in 15 October 2015.

UTN think it is good that the education is examined based on society needs. UTN's opinion program says that faculty should act thoughtfully when creating new education programs and avoid having programs with high degree of joint studies. From a labor market perspective, it is positive to ensure that the university provides programmes that together provides a wide range of skills, as it improve our international status and give us better job opportunities. However, we want the university to still be able to make own decisions and hope that this investigation may lead to better support for the university to do this work instead of moving decisions to a national level.
