About two weeks ago the crisis within Uppsala University’s management became official and soon after that the three Vice-Rectors publised that they demanded Eva Åkesson's immediate resignation. Today, the University board held their third meeting about the issue, and at the press conference at two o'clock they announced that the University Board, unanimously, have chosen to give the Vice-Chancellor their continued confidence. This is a decision that Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students have full confidence in that the University board have taken with Uppsala university's best interest in mind.
Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students have, along with previous statements, full confidence in the Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson and hope that the university management will learn from what has happened. It is unfortunate that the problems in the university management were not first addressed internally, but the Union's hope is that it now will be time for the management to process the criticism and develop their work.
During the press conference it was also announced that the three vice- rectors, who have been behind the criticism, resigns from their mission as vice-rectors.
