Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students's (UTN) council (FUM) is a democratic forum where representatives from UTN's 16 sectional associations come together to set the direction for the organization.

The council chair, Yonatan Gatica, opened the first council meeting of the semester with a loud bang. As usual the management team began to tell us about what had happened since the last council meeting.

Then it was time for bills (proposals by UTN:s board) and motions (proposals from members). First up was a proposal to renew the contracts with UTN's associated committees. The associated committees are independent associations cooperating with UTN in different ways. Such as Ett Teknat Spex and BEST. Most contracts are old and need to be renewed. The council gave UTN's board the task to evaluate and renegotiate all contracts.

The meeting adjourned for fika and discussions on the upcoming bills; UTN's tactical operation plan and the student vote on which organization shall represent the SciTech-students. Many opinions were shared and debated with coffee and cookies .

The meeting resumed and UTN's tactical operational plan was accepted with some minor changes. Among other things, UTN's board will investigate the possibility of a tenth full time enumerated student with responsibility for Uthgård. The Board received much praise for their work with the operation plan.

After that discussions began about the student voting. Many members had opinions and it became an engaged debate. The disappointment over Uppsala Student inactivity regarding the issue led the council to write an open letter to Uppsala Student Union.
