The first bill concerned giving the Board the continued mandate to pursue the issue of UTN as a formal union at the SciTech Faculty, and the bill was adopted after some discussion. After that, it was time for revision of the internal auditor's commission description, something that earlier has been lacking. The point was postponed, however, because the necessity of a claim for a statute to implement the desired changes.
Then it was time for the elections for the next financial year, 2012/2013. The Election Committee had done a good job and found suitable candidates to all of the positions. After some drama with withdrawn candidacies and a candidacy during the meeting, the Council could choose Liselott Karlsson as President of UTN, Robert Högström as Vice President with Financial Responsibility and Josefine Svensson, David Nogerius, Tobias Nordahl, Frederik Härlin and Adam Saxén as members of the Board. In order to monitor and support the newly elected Board, the Council elected Henrik Vallgren and Martin Västermark as Internal Auditor and Deputy Internal Auditor. An authorized external auditor was also elected. Last, but not least, the Council chose Viktor Björklund to be the Deputy Editor in Chief of the union magazine Techna. Congratulations to all the newly-elected!
The time had come to establish the membership fees for the coming year and these are set at 0 SEK / semester for regular members and 150 SEK / semester for the supportive members, which is exactly the same as previous years. After the membership fee was discussed, the second reading of statutes, decided at the meeting in February and the Alcohol policy, the associated action plan, the Reception policy and the Equality policy were revised.
Then it was time to return to the previously postponed bill on terms of the commission description for the Internal Auditor and the associated statute. Finally, Theresa Lundgren, member of the Board and responsible for the Reception group, told the Council that she found it difficult to recruit people to the group.
