UTN:s new President will be Liselott Karlsson, a girl who has done a lot during her time here in Uppsala:
- In the beginning, I studied at the Master Programme in Materials Engineering, but in the middle of the first year I took a break and back-packed in Asia. Then I continued to study, but this time at the Master Programme in Environmental and Water Engineering, a programme I felt was right for me. Last semester I took the chance to get some new impressions and studied Sociology for one semester.
Liselott has also done a lot for UTN and the W chapter. She says that it was a bit of a shock start when she was elected to be a Board member in the W chapter and the Project Manager of Fadderkå in the same semester. Since then, Liselott has been the Vice Project Manager for the Reception Committee, and she is currently a student representative on the Technical Education Board.
Robert Högström was elected Vice President with Financial Responsibility and he is currently a member of the Board. Robert has one semester left on the Bachelor Programme in Mechanical Engineering and he has also chosen to broaden his knowledge by studying business finances this semester.
- My year on the Board has given me a good insight into UTN as an organisation and it will be incredibly fun to continue working with everyone involved in UTN and to see them develop.
Robert has also an extensive experience of UTN in the past. He began his involvement in the Reception for Engineering and Computer Science Students and has also found time to serve as Vice Project Manager of the Utnarm Committee.
But the President and Vice President are not the only ones on the Board. They are supported by the five other Board members and together they will lead UTN:s activities during the next financial year. Unlike the President and the Vice President, who is full-time remunerated, the delegates continue to study during their time on the Board.
Josefin Svensson is studying at her fourth year of the Master Programme in Environmental and Water Engineering and in 2011 she worked at UTN:s office as Head of Corporate Relations. This also means that she has been the Project Manager of the Utnarm Committee. Before that, she has been the President of the W chapter. Josefin hopes that she can take advantage of her network of contacts in the business world during her time as a member of the Board, a network which she built up during her time as Head of Corporate Relations.
By this fall Tobias Nordahl will begin his studies at the Master Programme in Industrial Management and Innovation and he has a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tobias is also involved in the H chapter and during one year (2010/11) he was the Manager of the Cafe, a full-time remunerated office at UTN. Tobias wants to improve the organisation of masters students and the visibility of UTN against all students on the Faculty of Science and Technology.
David Nogerius is studying in his third year on the Master Programme in Engineering Physics while he is UTN:s Crew Master. Besides his involvement in the Pub Crew, where he has been Kitchen Host and crew, he has also been involved in the Rafting Committee. David is interested in UTN:s long-term plans and would like to help improve the hand offs within UTN during his years on the Board.
Adam Saxén has also been Crew Master for UTN. He began his UTN involvment by being a part of the Media Team in the Reception for Engineering and Computer Science Students. Adam also has experience from the nations, since his assignment as Bar Host at Värmlands nation. Adam thinks that it is important for UTN to find forms of commitment that makes it easy for students to get involved in UTN and he wants to work with this during his year on the Board.
Fredrik Härlin is currently the Head of Academic Affairs at UTN, which means that he works full-time as a Student Liaison Officer. Fredrik has a Bachelor degree in Physics and will attend the Master Programme in Computational Science this fall. Fredrik hopes to be able to continue working on sudent-educational issues during his years on the Board.
We are looking forward to next financial year!
