When the usual formalities were cleared, the presiding committee presented the newly created watch list. The list is created so that it should be easier to follow the decisions that is determined in the council, particularly in terms of status.
After that, the offices and board had their usual communication round, before elections raised. First filled was the position of Deputy Editor in Chief of Techna, and this was given to Tora Lutnaes. Then it was time for election of the council's presiding committee. The Election Committee nominated Yonatan Gatica for the position of Speaker, and at the meeting Sam Löthén candidated as Deputy Speaker, Martin Bjorling as Secretary and Peter Eklund as Deputy Secretary. There were no rivals, and these people were elected unanimously. When the presidium was set up it was time to fill the positions of Guardian of the Pillars for 2012. The board had nominated Victor Gerdin, Annika Herlin and Johan Magnusson to this, and they were unanimously elected.
When the elections were completed, the board of last financial year presented their annual report and financial report. They were told very briefly, as they previously gone out with the documents, and most of the members of council had already read them. With a few changes in the management report, including about Lankå and Balkå, the stories were stated and added to the documents. Same with the audit reports from internal and external auditors. After this, the previous board was granted discharge of liability.
Following this was a motion, received from a number of the chapter presidents. It dealt with an issue of membership, and wether chapters could use the register of members for their activities. After this a number of propositions were treated; there will be a student body group formed to investigate the practical questions arising when UTN formally will be its own student union, it will create a leadership course for committed students, the council's mandate distribution changed slightly, and the policy for business relationships were revised slightly.
Finally, the council decided to hand out some medals. Anders Virtanen, Åsa Kassman and Maja Elmgren was awarded UTN's Medal of Honor, for the work they have done. In addition, the resigning presiding committee of the council was awarded UTN's medal in silver, due to the work they have done with catching up with missing protocols, and the creation of a decision list. Since there were no other questions, the meeting was closed after that.
