Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students praises university employees

Åsa Kassman, Anders Virtanen and Maja Elmgren was awarded the Medal of Honor by Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students for their extraordinary efforts to improve the education programmes at the faculty of Science and Technology.

- University employees who are passionate about education and students' best is incredibly valuable, not only for us students but also for the whole university, says Johan Wikander, president of Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students. It is thanks to people like Åsa, Anders and Maja Uppsala University boasts outstanding research and top-rated education programmes.

 Anders Virtanen and Åsa Kassman Rudolphi was rewarded for their great involvement in education issues and together they guided the engineering and science programmes through the great Bologna process.

- Anders' and Åsa's support has been invaluable, especially during the CSN chaos last year, says Henrik Vallgren, vice president of Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students. The fact that many younger students do not know about the Bologna process, probably the biggest change to our education since 1477, speaks for itself.

Maja Elmgren, recognized for her efforts in pedagogics and pedagogical development, has worked to promote the educational qualifications of university teachers, thereby lifting many of the faculty's courses.

- Maja involve both teachers and students, on a collegiate level, in the educational development of the faculty. A very important work as skilled teachers necessary for us to continue to have world-class educations, says Fredrik Härlin, Head of Academic Affairs at Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students.

Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students' Medal of Honor are awarded to those who have made extraordinary efforts for the organization Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students, the students at Uppsala University's Faculty of Science and Technology or the strengthening of Uppsala's education and research in science and engineering.
