– Eva has great experience with both research and educational topics, this will be of great importance in the continued evolution of a university with international renowned education and world class scientific research, says Johan Wikander, President of Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students. Lund is used to listen to a diverse student voice, and it gives confidence that Eva already follows a number of students and student organisations here in Uppsala on Twitter.
– It is exhilirating to see someone with a clear connection to undergraduate education being appointed vice chancellor. I believe that the election of Eva Åkesson will inspire others to put more focus on a more pedagogical education during their scientific research career, says Fredrik Härlin Head of Academic Affairs, Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students.
– It brings pride to our organization that a chemist has been elected vice chancellor. Eva will of course be especially welcome to the VIP grandstand during the river rafting on the last April, says Henrik Vallgren, Vice President of Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students.
Eva is now Deputy Vice Chancellor at Lund university and is professor in chemical physics. She can be found on twitter under the handle @eva_akesson.
