Uppsalahem dedicates 20 short term contracts for newly arrived students

The housing shortage in Uppsala gets a sparkle of hope when Uppsalahem dedicates 20 short term contracts for new students.

The housing shortage for students in Uppsala has long been a problem, which is why we welcome the initiative from Uppsalahem to earmark 20 short term contracts for newly arrived students this fall. The agreement is made in collaboration with Uppsala student union and the housing site Studentboet and the conditions that must be met to get one of the contracts is that the student has not been living in Uppsala or done any studies at Uppsala University before.

Mikael Rådegård, CEO at Uppsalahem, calls the initiative A small but concrete contribution. At the same time he reveals that Uppsalahem is planning the construction start for 150 new student apartments later this fall, and also that an additional 500 apartments are planned to be built shortly.

The apartments are distributed by Uppsala student union and are published on www.studentboet.se. The deadline for applications is the 18th of August and the access date is the 1st of September.
